Karaoke Etiquette and Rules

1. DO check in with the host when you arrive to see if you have any songs saved on your "to sing" list.

2. DO let the host know when you're leaving so that she can check you out of the system. This prevents time wasted, calling for singers who are no longer in the building.

3. DO NOT demand the host's attention during the first 20 seconds of someone's song, or between songs when announcements are being made.

4. DO NOT talk so loudly to the host that you distract the current singer.

5. DO applaud.

6. DO NOT boo.

7. DO NOT front load (submit more than 4 songs for any singer at one time).

8. DO NOT sign up someone else for a song they do not want to sing.

9. DO NOT attempt to remove someone else's song, or try to take their place if they don't come to the microphone.

10. DO NOT attempt to join another singer unless expressly invited to do so.

11. DO NOT argue about your position in the rotation. You will be moved to the end, or removed entirely for the evening. Understand that the computer sets a fair rotation, and that the host's decision is final.

12. BE AWARE that new singers go to the end of the current round.

13. You MUST use a card to sign up to sing. If you're too drunk to fill out a card, you're too drunk to touch my microphones.

14. DO put your first name and last initial on the sign up card.

15. DO use the same name all night.

16. DO have your song chosen before you come up to sing.
